You better shop around.

I just finished looking at the bills and decided to vent some of my frustrations. Our dr./patient/insurance company relationship is not on good terms right now.
Joseph was referred to a doctor who isn't covered under our insurance plan. The referred dr's office didn't see the need to mention this when they checked our insurance information. Now we're out about $850. Let me tell you some other things about this doc...this same doctor wouldn't take anything but cash at his office. He decided at the last minute to operate on the groin instead of the armpit. He failed to read Joseph's chart and wrote him a prescription for a painkiller he was allergic to and he then made us wait an additional 4 hours after Joseph was discharged before he would write a different prescription.
But this dr isn't the only thorn in our side.
When Joseph's jaw hurt a dr. told him he had TMJ. When Joseph's stomach hurt a dr. told him he had acid reflux. When his vision became blurry another dr. told him he had high blood sugar.
It seems they all make their living off of assumptions and only the patients come out looking like asses unless, of course, they ever get properly diagnosed.
Things aren't the way they should be. Patients should get their money back when they are misdiagnosed and, in some cases, pain and suffering. These quacks should be forced to use "dr." instead of "Dr." if they insist they have the right to call themselves by that title.

I could go on some more about our insurance company but I need to sleep now.
